Regent Caravans was founded in Melbourne in 1991 and since then, we have helped thousands of Australians create and share unforgettable holiday experiences in some of the best luxury caravans on the market.

The History of Regent Caravans

Manufacturing Luxury Caravans for 30 Years

Regent Caravans was borne from a humble and small family operation with a fondness for travel.

Initially, the Regent brand built Pop Tops, and Touring vans and established itself as one of the premium brands in the market.

After 20 years and roughly 10,000 happy Regent owners, the brand changed hands in 2012, with Caravans Australia taking over and adding it to their stable of caravan brands.

Caravans Australia modernised the factory and production process and updated the models. The first 2 models under new management debuted at the Adelaide caravan show in 2013.

The Cruiser line had firmly established itself in the Regent stable and the Cruiser was one of the first models of the new production line to debut on the show circuit.

Despite the change of ownership the high standard of design, build quality and luxury fittings remained a constant.

In 2015 Caravans Australia split to focus more on their imported caravan brands and the Regent brand was acquired by the New Gonow Group (China). The New Gonow Group is a huge company with 6 factories, 1,500 employees in China and a global reputation for caravan and motorhome design and build quality.

Under new ownership, the Regent brand continued growing including expanding internationally with the addition of our first New Zealand dealership.

In 2021, Regent evolved again. We moved on from using old-fashioned and problematic wood construction toward an all-new full composite sandwich panel technology. This advanced process is beyond reach for most local caravan builders and again sets Regent as the brand to watch.

The Northern Suburbs of Melbourne (Campebelfiled, Somerton) is the centre of the Australian caravan industry and has been the home of Regent Caravans for the last 30 years. Today we operate 2 assembly plants in Somerton and proudly employ over 130 people, making Regent home to one of the largest caravan factories in Australia.

From the mighty outback to our glorious coastline, Australians are blessed with the choice to explore and holiday at every opportunity and Regent has proudly been part of that journey. Over the years, Regent Caravan designs and functionality have remained true to form… providing Australians with a premium caravan experience without sacrificing creature comforts. In 2015 the company was acquired by the New Gonow Group (China) with a global reputation in caravan and motorhome design and build quality. Australians can now benefit from state-of-the-art manufacturing and construction as well as an ever-expanding range of affordable caravans.

As an example, effective 2021 Regent evolved from using archaic and problematic wood construction to the all-new full composite sandwich panel construction.  This advanced technology is beyond reach for most local caravan manufacturers.

Our Melbourne assembly plant proudly employs over 100 people, each dedicated to continuous quality improvement customer service.

Luxury Caravans

At Regent Caravans, we build affordable Luxury caravans and have become the brand of choice with first-time caravan owners & experienced caravan owners alike. Over the decades we’ve learnt a lot, which is reflected in our cutting-edge caravans.

Our current lineup includes the Cruiser range of Slide out caravans and the Discoverer range of more traditional couples touring caravans. The Discoverer Range also includes a family caravan.

The new Regent caravan range has an all-new design. Built with fibreglass walls & roof, all in one piece & equipped with the latest technology. We manufacture ‘built to last’ caravans.

Over the years our range of luxury caravans has been recognized by industry professionals time and time again. We have been a nominated for a number of awards in the caravan industry which includes winning Caravans World’s Best Aussie Van Award in 2019, and being a finalist in the CaravanCampingSales 2021 Best New RV and Caravan World’s Caravan of the Year 2022.
